"Routes": An exhibition born from a curatorial research specifically designed for Scalo Lambrate.

Milan, June 25, 2021. "Routes" opens at Scalo Lambrate, the exhibition dedicated to the ten artists who won the ReA! Art Prize 2020.

The exhibition space is the starting point of the collective: "Routes" refers both to the creative journey of the artists and to the location itself, situated in a former railway depot.

To celebrate the "restart," the ten creative winners of the ReA! Art Prize 2020 come together in a collective exhibition. Coming from different cultural backgrounds, they share, however, a common point: the journey, understood, depending on each interpreter, as an exploration of oneself, the environment and nature, the urban landscape, technology, communication, culture, and society. Thus, it represents important and critical changes through the practices and creative experimentation of emerging artists who, evolving in difficult circumstances, assume new functions.

The presented works are diverse from each other but, at the same time, share multiple parallels. The research ranges from a focus on materiality to the representation and interpretation of the space around us—whether it is confined or liberating. Furthermore, great emphasis is placed on the search for identity through connections with others and nature, as well as the relationship established with one's self.

The artists address these themes through different media: from more classical forms of expression—such as painting and sculpture—to more contemporary media like algorithms for creating digital videos. Thus, the exhibition offers the public an in-depth view of the artists' practices to create a connection with their perspective of the world.
