Emotional Fluctuations
26 June - 11 Jul 2021
The ReA! Art Association presents to the public ‘Emotional Fluctuations,’ an exhibition featuring six artists selected from participants in the three editions of ReA! Art Fair. The exhibition is curated by Maria Myasnikova, Erica Massaccesi, and Vittoria Martinotti—part of the ReA Art curatorial team—and is hosted at the Tube Culture Hall. The exhibition design was handled by Andrea Isola.
The selected works explore the theme of emotional instability, dissociation, and the voluntary distortion of reality through various mediums, including painting, sculpture, video, and installation. The involved artists present works that, consciously or unconsciously, project the viewer into a grotesque, ambiguous world where a strong dualism connects truth and imagination.
The sense of disorientation and dissociation is often hidden behind captivating or hallucinatory images and elements, offering an altered and fantastical vision of the present. Through the exhibited works, the show aims to propose a different definition of the future by deconstructing reality and reflecting on our perception of it.
‘Emotional Fluctuations’ opens on Wednesday, May 3, at Tube Culture Hall, Piazza XXV Aprile in Milan, with a press preview at 11:00 AM, a preview for collectors at 5:00 PM, and an invitation-only vernissage from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The exhibition runs until May 12, 2023.
